First, let’s just clarify ‘Framily.’ According to the Urban Dictionary: “Framily – noun. Friends or blood relatives to whom we would actually choose to be related because the relationship is mutually respectful, close, supporting, and affectionate. The favourite people in our lives we would include in our family, whether they are blood-related or not, typically because we love them.” Your multi-generational family, your furry family, your framily; La Cazalla loves you all!
According to UK study ‘The Redefinition of Life’s Luxuries’, where 1,000 parents were surveyed, 95% believe the key to happiness lies in spending quality family time together. And it’s not just among the Brits that this shift in attitude towards ‘luxury’ is happening; the US Harris Poll ‘Enabling the Good Life Report’ (April 2017) revealed that 76% of the 1,000 participants surveyed believe that a good life is defined by having meaningful connections with family.
Today, there is an increasing focus and emphasis on simplicity, health, people, and looking beyond oneself rather than material goods. Whereas a high-end car or large home were once signs of success and wealth, today’s consumers would rather live simply and incorporate wellness into their everyday lives.
So how can we help you out with all this at La Cazalla de Ronda?
1. Space, privacy, tranquillity
With 13 acres of private woodland, olive groves and meadows, six airy bedrooms (all en-suite, all similar size, no arguing), three living rooms, dining spaces for 12 inside or out on the terrace, and a swimming pool surrounded by sweet-smelling lavender and fruit trees, your family and friends will find plenty of space to relax during your stay at La Cazalla. Spread out, find a quiet nook when you want to, and come back together again. It’s the perfect combination. With discreet visits by our housekeeper, you won’t even need to worry about making the beds or tidying around the house. Relax, breathe, enjoy the sunshine, and immerse yourselves in the unspoiled nature completely surrounding you.
2. Adventure, exploration, fun
There’s plenty of fun and adventure for you at La Cazalla in Ronda. At the house, we have our beautiful private swimming pool with inflatables and 12 sun loungers. There’s table tennis, Wii Sports, badminton, boules, darts, footballs, board games, and our nature trail. You can go hiking, horse riding, walk the breathtaking Caminito del Rey (advance bookings recommended), go cycling, take a buggy tour or hot air balloon ride, or go canyoning, caving or bungee jumping from the bridge. You can even sleep under the stars and listen to the wildlife all night long in our specially built safari-style bed. Simply contact us for more information and we will be delighted to send you all the details.
Surprisingly, one of the most popular activities during 2019 was dog walking. We have five – yes, five – gorgeous friendly dogs, who you may or may not see depending on your preferences! Whilst they are in a totally separated area from the main house and grounds, we walk them twice a day out of the gate and up the track and you are welcome to join us if you wish! Basil (named after our favourite foxy glove puppet Basil Brush), our rescued little Pomeranian mix, is so popular he has a growing fan club!
3. Simplicity, health, reconnecting with nature
Our well-supplied kitchen was designed for a professional chef and provides all the cooking utensils and basic pantry items you need to prepare meals easily for a large group. Plus you’ll find little gifts from us throughout your stay, such as our delicious organic extra-virgin olive oil, nuts from our walnut and almond trees, and home-made chutneys and jams. Step outside the kitchen to discover our organic herb and vegetable gardens and fruit trees, including lemons for your gin and tonic, and pomegranates for your salads. There is always something to enjoy – just help yourselves! Our wonderful neighbours, who we actually call ‘The Vegetable Men,’ have the most fantastic organic fruit and vegetable allotment we have ever seen… Veg Box Delivery with Zero Food Miles – we’ve nailed it!
There’s nothing quite like dining outside on the terrace with your family whilst listening to the sounds of nature around you and enjoying a little bird watching. In fact, the evening meal on the terrace became a truly unique experience in 2019, as a colony of tiny bats took up residence in one of the birdhouses nearby and our guests delighted in watching them fly out at sundown.
We feel that all of these things together make La Cazalla the perfect location for your family holiday this summer. But don’t just take our word for it:
